A step forward into Singapore's future
Issues
Affordabilty of Living
According to the 2018 Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey, Singapore was ranked as “seriously unaffordable”. Our party plans to allow Singaporeans access to more affordable housing by raising the monthly income ceiling for Housing Development Board (HDB) flat buyers by $2,000 for HDB properties. This applies to all HDB flats which include resales, Build-To-Order (BTO), Design, Built and Sell Scheme (DBSS) and Executive Condominiums (EC). Housing grants and CPF policies will remain. Our party believes that all Singaporeans should be allowed an opportunity to purchase and own subsidised public flats.
The development of Kranji area will increase the supply of housing units, which will deal with the new demand for more HDB flats with the new housing policy that the party will introduce. Large plots of unused lands would be converted into estates, which will give local residents a new community with brand new location with facilities and flats.
Our party also aims to amend the GST increase to allow enough reserves for infrastructure, new developments and subsidised education while making sure that the people do not have to overcompensate. We understand the concerns of the nation and intend to only raise the GST from 7% to 8% instead of 7% to 9%.
Medisave, the compulsory healthcare plan that all Singaporeans possess, may not be advantageous for our low wage workers as the current policies dictate that only certain medical bills can be paid with Medisave or limited family members can use one another's plans.
A reformed health care bill for low wage workers will allow them to withdraw Medisave savings for family members of all ages, as long as it is considered a medical service (i.e. payments for a visit to the Polyclinic, Mammogram check-ups).
